Description
The Skylark tensile structure undergoes an iterative form-finding process until an equilibrium is achieved, meeting the stress requirements of its members and boundary conditions. The development of lightweight tensile structures and the introduction of numerical analysis methods enabled the design, computational analysis, design optimization, and automated manufacturing of the Skylark tensile. This performance-based design relies on open-loop multivariable systems. The project’s technology-driven design processes are examined through the lens of an interconnected syntax between architectural and Skylark tensile structural design.
